Investing.com – Brazil equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Industrials, Real Estate and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa rose 1.08%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were WEG SA (BVMF:WEGE3), which rose 10.23% or 4.69 points to trade at 50.55 at the close. Tim Participacoes SA (BVMF:TIMS3) added 6.11% or 1.00 points to end at 17.37 and Sendas Distribuidora SA (BVMF:ASAI3) was up 4.13% or 0.39 points to 9.83 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Hypera SA (BVMF:HYPE3), which lost 2.78% or 0.82 points to trade at 28.71 in late trade. JBS SA (BVMF:JBSS3) declined 2.43% or 0.84 points to end at 33.72 and Azul SA Pref (BVMF:AZUL4) shed 1.60% or 0.13 points to 8.02.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 647 to 327 and 51 ended unchanged on the B3 Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 2.15% to 24.75.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.68% or 41.10 to $2,493.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 4.95% or 3.70 to hit $78.43 a barrel, while the September US coffee C contract fell 0.94% or 2.17 to trade at $228.63 .
USD/BRL was up 0.63% to 5.65, while EUR/BRL rose 0.76% to 6.12.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.46% at 103.83.
