Investing.com – Brazil equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Financials, Real Estate and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa rose 1.00%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were B2W Cia Digital (SA:BTOW3), which rose 5.91% or 1.55 points to trade at 27.79 at the close. Hypermarcas SA (SA:HYPE3) added 5.21% or 1.41 points to end at 28.49 and Petroleo Brasileiro SA PN (SA:PETR4) was up 5.12% or 0.79 points to 16.21 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ultrapar Participacoes SA (SA:UGPA3), which lost 4.23% or 2.06 points to trade at 46.64 in late trade. Localiza Rent a Car SA (SA:RENT3) declined 3.05% or 0.73 points to end at 23.20 and CCR SA (SA:CCRO3) shed 2.86% or 0.30 points to 10.20.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 244 to 168 and 37 ended unchanged on the BM&FBovespa Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 1.11% to 34.55.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.63% or 8.10 to $1270.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.79% or 0.51 to hit $65.41 a barrel, while the September US coffee C contract rose 0.31% or 0.36 to trade at $116.78 .
USD/BRL was up 0.73% to 3.7737, while EUR/BRL rose 0.65% to 4.3713.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 94.75.
