Investing.com – Brazil equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Real Estate, Financials and Electric Power sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa rose 0.80%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were Grupo Vamos SA (BVMF:VAMO3), which rose 12.08% or 0.64 points to trade at 5.94 at the close. Atacadao SA (BVMF:CRFB3) added 7.67% or 0.46 points to end at 6.46 and Pet Center Comercio e Partcipacoes (BVMF:PETZ3) was up 7.61% or 0.29 points to 4.10 in late trade.
Biggest losers included JBS SA (BVMF:JBSS3), which lost 3.91% or 1.56 points to trade at 38.37 in late trade. BRF SA (BVMF:BRFS3) declined 3.28% or 0.94 points to end at 27.75 and Suzano Papel e Celulose SA (BVMF:SUZB3) shed 3.06% or 2.04 points to 64.61.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 564 to 406 and 43 ended unchanged on the B3 Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 5.23% to 29.70.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 1.27% or 34.02 to $2,719.82 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to hit $68.37 a barrel, while the March US coffee C contract rose 1.19% or 3.93 to trade at $334.03 .
USD/BRL was down 0.55% to 6.05, while EUR/BRL fell 0.80% to 6.36.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.24% at 106.08.
