Investing.com – Brazil equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Real Estate, Basic Materials and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa added 0.77%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were Companhia Brasileira De Distribuica (BVMF:PCAR3), which rose 7.25% or 0.20 points to trade at 2.96 at the close. Azul SA Pref (BVMF:AZUL4) added 4.87% or 0.29 points to end at 6.24 and Cyrela Brazil Realty SA (BVMF:CYRE3) was up 4.51% or 0.93 points to 21.54 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo Vamos SA (BVMF:VAMO3), which lost 6.66% or 0.43 points to trade at 6.03 in late trade. 3R Petroleum Oleo E Gas Sa (BVMF:BRAV3) declined 2.28% or 0.41 points to end at 17.55 and Atacadao SA (BVMF:CRFB3) shed 1.95% or 0.18 points to 9.07.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 506 to 427 and 53 ended unchanged on the B3 Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 0.35% to 28.75 a new 1-month high.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.34% or 9.25 to $2,681.05 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 1.68% or 1.17 to hit $71.00 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract fell 2.92% or 7.70 to trade at $256.45 .
USD/BRL was unchanged 0.07% to 5.44, while EUR/BRL fell 0.53% to 6.02.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.43% at 101.36.
