Investing.com – Brazil equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Consumption, Real Estate and Electric Power sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa gained 0.65%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were Lojas Renner SA (BVMF:LREN3), which rose 4.84% or 0.87 points to trade at 18.83 at the close. Cvc Brasil ON (BVMF:CVCB3) added 4.76% or 0.09 points to end at 1.98 and Cogna Educacao SA (BVMF:COGN3) was up 4.23% or 0.06 points to 1.48 in late trade.
Biggest losers included IRB Brasil Resseguros SA (BVMF:IRBR3), which lost 7.32% or 3.49 points to trade at 44.22 in late trade. Companhia Brasileira De Distribuica (BVMF:PCAR3) declined 2.71% or 0.09 points to end at 3.23 and Braskem SA (BVMF:BRKM5) shed 1.69% or 0.30 points to 17.40.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 492 to 469 and 40 ended unchanged on the B3 Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 2.20% to 29.24.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.70% or 19.00 to $2,748.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.41% or 0.29 to hit $70.48 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract fell 3.05% or 7.70 to trade at $244.65 .
USD/BRL was down 0.37% to 5.67, while EUR/BRL fell 0.27% to 6.13.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.37% at 103.89.
