Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Technology and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 2.05% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Argen-X (EBR:ARGX), which fell 0.14% or 0.80 points to trade at 558.20 at the close. D’Ieteren NV (EBR:IETB) fell 0.60% or 1.20 points to end at 197.50 and Ageas (EBR:AGES) was down 1.04% or 0.50 points to 47.78 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Syensqo SA (EBR:SYENS), which lost 4.68% or 3.71 points to trade at 75.53 in late trade. Azelis Corporate Services NV (EBR:AZE) declined 4.31% or 0.85 points to end at 18.86 and Solvay SA (EBR:SOLB) shed 4.29% or 1.42 points to 31.71.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 87 to 14 and 13 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.56% or 14.65 to $2,603.05 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.53% or 0.36 to hit $68.40 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.47% or 0.34 to trade at $72.17 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.50% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.56% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.55% at 106.04.
