Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Media, Industrial Engineering and Banking sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 1.28%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Argen-X (BR:ARGX), which rose 0.51% or 0.40 points to trade at 78.60 at the close. Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX) added 0.11% or 0.02 points to end at 18.65 and Cofinimmo-Sicafi (BR:COFB) was unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 points to 107.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Telenet Group Holding NV (BR:TNET), which lost 3.12% or 1.32 points to trade at 41.04 in late trade. Solvay SA (BR:SOLB) declined 2.72% or 2.64 points to end at 94.32 and Umicore SA (BR:UMI) shed 2.06% or 0.81 points to 38.49.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 71 to 38 and 12 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.04% or 0.50 to $1227.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 1.48% or 0.81 to hit $53.82 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 1.31% or 0.83 to trade at $62.65 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.19% to 1.1406, while EUR/GBP fell 0.61% to 0.8855.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.22% at 96.375.
