Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Utilities, Beverage and Travel & Leisure sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 0.63%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Aedifica (EBR:AOO), which rose 2.36% or 1.50 points to trade at 64.95 at the close. Cofinimmo SA (EBR:COFB) added 1.43% or 0.95 points to end at 67.40 and Warehouses de Pauw Comm VA (EBR:WDPP) was up 1.13% or 0.28 points to 25.08 in late trade.
Biggest losers included D’Ieteren NV (EBR:IETB), which lost 6.90% or 15.60 points to trade at 210.40 in late trade. Umicore SA (EBR:UMI) declined 2.46% or 0.25 points to end at 9.73 and Solvay SA (EBR:SOLB) shed 2.46% or 0.78 points to 30.87.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 55 to 36 and 20 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.28% or 7.10 to $2,539.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 4.64% or 3.19 to hit $65.52 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 4.06% or 2.92 to trade at $68.92 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.10% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.00% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 101.63.
