Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Utilities, Industrials and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 declined 0.45% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Syensqo SA (EBR:SYENS), which rose 1.74% or 1.59 points to trade at 92.85 at the close. D’Ieteren NV (EBR:IETB) added 0.60% or 1.20 points to end at 201.40 and Argen-X (EBR:ARGX) was up 0.51% or 1.80 points to 354.60 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Aedifica (EBR:AOO), which lost 3.01% or 1.80 points to trade at 58.00 in late trade. Cofinimmo SA (EBR:COFB) declined 2.63% or 1.60 points to end at 59.20 and Warehouses de Pauw Comm VA (EBR:WDPP) shed 2.48% or 0.66 points to 26.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 54 to 45 and 7 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 2.91% or 69.50 to $2,321.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.24% or 0.18 to hit $75.37 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.43% or 0.34 to trade at $79.53 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.73% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.25% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.73% at 104.82.
