Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Technology, Utilities and Beverage sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 0.27%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Argen-X (EBR:ARGX), which rose 4.81% or 19.50 points to trade at 425.00 at the close. Proximus NV (EBR:PROX) added 0.47% or 0.04 points to end at 7.48 and D’Ieteren NV (EBR:IETB) was up 0.20% or 0.40 points to 197.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Umicore SA (EBR:UMI), which lost 3.64% or 0.54 points to trade at 14.28 in late trade. Solvay SA (EBR:SOLB) declined 3.51% or 1.16 points to end at 31.91 and Aperam SA (AS:APAM) shed 2.55% or 0.64 points to 24.42.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 66 to 27 and 20 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.33% or 7.85 to $2,336.55 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.62% or 0.51 to hit $81.12 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.69% or 0.59 to trade at $84.56 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.25% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.17% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.22% at 105.35.
