Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Utilities, Consumer Services and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 declined 0.12%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Argen-X (BR:ARGX), which rose 4.76% or 3.90 points to trade at 85.90 at the close. Telenet Group Holding NV (BR:TNET) added 1.62% or 0.70 points to end at 43.82 and Proximus NV (BR:PROX) was up 1.33% or 0.32 points to 24.44 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Aperam SA (AS:APAM), which lost 2.39% or 0.61 points to trade at 24.89 in late trade. bpost NV (BR:BPOST) declined 1.21% or 0.14 points to end at 11.41 and ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) shed 1.11% or 0.120 points to 10.684.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 61 to 48 and 18 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.28% or 3.50 to $1226.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.35% or 0.18 to hit $51.27 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 0.42% or 0.25 to trade at $59.66 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.63% to 1.1321, while EUR/GBP fell 0.52% to 0.8864.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.41% at 97.095.
