Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Technology, Healthcare and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 gained 2.82%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which rose 4.68% or 1.08 points to trade at 24.14 at the close. Argen-X (EBR:ARGX) added 4.24% or 19.00 points to end at 467.00 and UCB SA (EBR:UCB) was up 3.33% or 4.90 points to 152.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Proximus NV (EBR:PROX), which lost 0.40% or 0.03 points to trade at 6.25 in late trade. Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (EBR:ABI) added 1.20% or 0.66 points to end at 55.80 and Aperam SA (AS:APAM) gained 1.27% or 0.32 points to 25.50.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 84 to 12 and 10 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.15% or 3.70 to $2,435.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 3.06% or 2.24 to hit $75.44 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 2.64% or 2.02 to trade at $78.50 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.06% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.20% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.23% at 103.00.
