Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Industrials, Technology and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 0.66% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were UCB SA (EBR:UCB), which rose 3.52% or 5.35 points to trade at 157.40 at the close. Argen-X (EBR:ARGX) added 1.71% or 7.70 points to end at 459.10 and Cofinimmo SA (EBR:COFB) was up 1.60% or 0.95 points to 60.35 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (EBR:ABI), which lost 1.92% or 1.08 points to trade at 55.08 in late trade. Melexis NV (EBR:MLXS) declined 1.70% or 1.35 points to end at 78.15 and Umicore SA (EBR:UMI) shed 0.31% or 0.04 points to 13.07.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 53 to 42 and 11 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.25% or 6.15 to $2,421.75 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.58% or 1.22 to hit $75.94 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 1.46% or 1.17 to trade at $79.11 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.37% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.27% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.30% at 104.37.
