Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Technology and Banking sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 gained 0.39%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Aperam SA (AS:APAM), which rose 1.99% or 0.48 points to trade at 24.62 at the close. Solvay SA (EBR:SOLB) added 1.89% or 0.62 points to end at 33.49 and Proximus NV (EBR:PROX) was up 1.48% or 0.11 points to 7.56 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Umicore SA (EBR:UMI), which lost 2.07% or 0.29 points to trade at 13.74 in late trade. Argen-X (EBR:ARGX) declined 1.25% or 5.10 points to end at 403.50 and Groep Brussel Lambert NV (EBR:GBLB) gained 0.08% or 0.05 points to 66.70.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 55 to 40 and 10 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.09% or 2.00 to $2,337.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.75% or 1.43 to hit $82.97 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 1.64% or 1.39 to trade at $86.39 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.12% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.08% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.05% at 105.60.
