Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Technology, Healthcare and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 0.21%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Umicore SA (EBR:UMI), which rose 3.20% or 0.32 points to trade at 10.17 at the close. UCB SA (EBR:UCB) added 2.71% or 5.05 points to end at 191.65 and Cofinimmo SA (EBR:COFB) was up 2.25% or 1.20 points to 54.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Argen-X (EBR:ARGX), which lost 1.52% or 9.20 points to trade at 595.40 in late trade. Warehouses de Pauw Comm VA (EBR:WDPP) declined 1.26% or 0.24 points to end at 18.80 and D’Ieteren NV (EBR:IETB) shed 1.05% or 1.70 points to 160.20.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 58 to 36 and 15 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.49% or 13.04 to $2,632.06 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 1.09% or 0.76 to hit $68.70 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 1.10% or 0.80 to trade at $71.76 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.18% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.17% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.44% at 107.82.
