Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Consumer Services and Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 0.13%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Aperam SA (AS:APAM), which rose 4.67% or 1.16 points to trade at 26.00 at the close. UCB SA (EBR:UCB) added 2.82% or 4.60 points to end at 168.00 and D’Ieteren NV (EBR:IETB) was up 2.07% or 3.90 points to 191.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which lost 2.71% or 0.72 points to trade at 25.84 in late trade. Argen-X (EBR:ARGX) declined 2.39% or 11.50 points to end at 468.70 and KBC Groep NV (EBR:KBC) shed 0.99% or 0.70 points to 70.32.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 50 to 49 and 14 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.72% or 19.05 to $2,671.55 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 1.76% or 1.24 to hit $71.61 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 1.76% or 1.29 to trade at $74.50 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.39% to 1.12, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.11% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.26% at 100.29.
