Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Telecoms, Consumer Services and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 0.02%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Telenet Group (BR:TNET), which rose 6.54% or 3.25 points to trade at 53.00 at the close. Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX) added 1.91% or 0.54 points to end at 28.56 and Proximus NV (BR:PROX) was up 1.20% or 0.33 points to 27.51 in late trade.
Biggest losers included KBC (BR:KBC), which lost 1.28% or 0.760 points to trade at 58.500 in late trade. Ageas (BR:AGES) declined 0.72% or 0.270 points to end at 37.365 and Ackermans V.Haaren (BR:ACKB) shed 0.60% or 0.80 points to 132.50.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 57 to 51 and 12 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.57% or 7.05 to $1240.15 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.13% or 0.07 to hit $53.04 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 0.56% or 0.31 to trade at $55.44 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.54% to 1.0656, while EUR/GBP rose 0.47% to 0.8546.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.46% at 100.61.
