Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Consumer Services, Financials and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 0.85%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were NV Bekaert SA (BR:BEKB), which rose 0.52% or 0.20 points to trade at 39.66 at the close. Anheuser-Busch Inbev SA (BR:ABI) added 0.44% or 0.43 points to end at 98.73 and Cofinimmo-Sicafi (BR:COFB) was up 0.34% or 0.35 points to 104.65 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD), which lost 2.25% or 0.44 points to trade at 19.14 in late trade. ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) declined 1.80% or 0.230 points to end at 12.520 and Ackermans V.Haaren (BR:ACKB) shed 1.75% or 2.20 points to 123.25.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 87 to 60 and 12 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.86% or 10.10 to $1188.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 2.78% or 1.28 to hit $47.34 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 2.59% or 1.25 to trade at $49.49 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.08% to 1.0579, while EUR/GBP rose 0.42% to 0.8526.
The US Dollar Index was unchanged 0.00% at 101.48.
