Investing.com – Russia equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Manufacturing, Mining and Power sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX fell 0.40%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MICEX were AK Transneft OAO Pref (MCX:TRNF_p), which rose 5.22% or 7100 points to trade at 143000 at the close. Ros Agro PLC (MCX:AGRODR) added 2.05% or 17 points to end at 847 and Surgut-pref (MCX:SNGS_p) was up 1.35% or 0.400 points to 30.095 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Yandex NV (MCX:YNDX), which lost 4.48% or 60.50 points to trade at 1290.00 in late trade. DIXY Group ao (MCX:DIXY) declined 3.61% or 12.30 points to end at 328.00 and Aeroflot (MCX:AFLT) shed 2.05% or 2.50 points to 119.40.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 132 to 83 and 30 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was down 1.80% to 25.640.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.19% or 2.40 to $1253.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 1.36% or 0.69 to hit $50.10 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.07% or 0.56 to trade at $51.85 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.47% to 62.9617, while EUR/RUB rose 0.15% to 69.403.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.16% at 97.88.
