Investing.com – Nigeria equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Banking and Food, Beverages & Tobacco sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 rose 0.08%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the NSE 30 were Diamond Bank (LAGOS:DIAMONB), which rose 2.44% or 0.020 points to trade at 0.830 at the close. Stanbicibtc Hl (LAGOS:IBTC) added 2.40% or 0.44 points to end at 18.75 and Wapco (LAGOS:WAPCO) was up 1.93% or 0.87 points to 46.80 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Guaranty Bnk (LAGOS:GUARANT), which lost 0.68% or 0.17 points to trade at 24.33 in late trade. Uacn Prop (LAGOS:UACN) declined 0.40% or 0.06 points to end at 15.00 and Nig Brew (LAGOS:NB) shed 0.40% or 0.50 points to 123.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 18 to 11 and 58 ended unchanged on the Lagos.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was down 0.24% or 0.13 to $52.98 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June fell 0.43% or 0.24 to hit $55.62 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.81% or 10.40 to trade at $1288.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was up 0.42% to 335.110, while USD/NGN fell 0.32% to 316.500.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.37% at 100.43.
