Investing.com – Germany equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Construction, Food & Beverages and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 0.24%, while the MDAX index added 0.06%, and the TecDAX index gained 0.53%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Heidelbergcement AG O.N. (DE:HEIG), which rose 1.95% or 1.560 points to trade at 81.500 at the close. Volkswagen AG VZO O.N. (DE:VOWG_p) added 1.36% or 1.700 points to end at 126.350 and Bay.Motoren Werke AG ST (DE:BMWG) was up 1.09% or 0.870 points to 80.500 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Lufthansa AG VNA O.N. (DE:LHAG), which lost 2.31% or 0.255 points to trade at 10.775 in late trade. RWE AG ST O.N. (DE:RWEG) declined 0.58% or 0.090 points to end at 15.370 and Commerzbank AG O.N. (DE:CBKG) shed 0.40% or 0.023 points to 5.765.
The top performers on the MDAX were Kion Group AG (DE:KGX) which rose 1.64% to 51.58, Hella KGaA Hueck & Co (DE:HLE) which was up 1.40% to settle at 35.19 and Zalando SE (DE:ZALG) which gained 1.39% to close at 37.25.
The worst performers were Bilfinger SE O.N. (DE:GBFG) which was down 5.73% to 28.110 in late trade, K+S AG NA O.N. (DE:SDFGn) which lost 4.41% to settle at 17.665 and Aurubis AG (DE:NAFG) which was down 1.04% to 48.310 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which rose 3.66% to 16.265, Xing AG (DE:OBCGn) which was up 2.78% to settle at 194.400 and Qiagen NV (DE:QGEN) which gained 1.78% to close at 24.630.
The worst performers were Draegerwerk VZO O.N. (DE:DRWG_p) which was down 3.66% to 62.140 in late trade, Cancom SE O.N. (DE:COKG) which lost 1.99% to settle at 42.930 and GFT Technologies AG (DE:GFTG) which was down 1.69% to 20.405 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 461 to 415 and 26 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 17.92.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.37% or 4.95 to $1348.15 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 2.65% or 1.18 to hit $45.67 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 2.62% or 1.23 to trade at $48.20 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.30% to 1.1194, while EUR/GBP rose 0.59% to 0.8695.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.18% at 95.51.
