Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms Services, Consumer Goods & Services and Financial Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC lost 0.22%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Infraestructura Energetica Nova SAB (MX:IENOVA), which rose 2.69% or 2.52 points to trade at 96.04 at the close. Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB) added 1.69% or 0.390 points to end at 23.470 and Nemak SAB de CV (MX:NEMAKA) was up 1.32% or 0.23 points to 17.61 in late trade.
Biggest losers included VOLARIS A (MX:VOLARA), which lost 2.53% or 0.67 points to trade at 25.82 in late trade. Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA) declined 2.07% or 0.600 points to end at 28.430 and Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GCARSOA1) shed 1.97% or 1.530 points to 76.160.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 127 to 120 and 7 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.27% or 3.42 to $1249.82 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.64% or 0.71 to hit $44.09 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 1.67% or 0.77 to trade at $46.81 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.58% to 17.9712, while EUR/MXN rose 2.01% to 20.3853.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 1.02% at 96.12.
