Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Transport, Services and Finance & Investment sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General gained 0.34%, while the ADX General index added 0.09%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were ARAMEX PJSC (DU:ARMX), which rose 7.26% or 0.300 points to trade at 4.430 at the close. Amanat Holdings PJSC (DU:AMANT) added 4.59% or 0.050 points to end at 1.140 and Arabtec Holding PJSC (DU:ARTC) was up 3.01% or 0.040 points to 1.370 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Mashreqbank PSC (DU:MASB), which lost 5.61% or 5.05 points to trade at 85.00 in late trade. National Central Cooling Co. (DU:TABR) declined 3.55% or 0.070 points to end at 1.900 and Dubai Islamic Bank (DU:DISB) shed 0.82% or 0.050 points to 6.060.
The top performers on the ADX General were Ad Shipbldg Co (AD:ADSB) which rose 14.29% to 3.200, Sharjah Cement AD (AD:SCID) which was up 5.26% to settle at 1.000 and Rak Cement Co (AD:RKCC) which gained 4.60% to close at 0.910.
The worst performers were Int Fish Farmi (AD:ASMK) which was down 9.93% to 2.63 in late trade, Ad Natl Ins Co (AD:ADNI) which lost 7.69% to settle at 2.400 and Rak Ceramics (AD:RKCE) which was down 3.97% to 2.420 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 20 to 12 and 4 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 18 rose and 8 declined, while 5 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was up 0.45% or 0.24 to $53.41 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 0.20% or 0.11 to hit $55.81 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.14% or 1.65 to trade at $1192.75 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was unchanged 0.00% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED fell 0.07% to 3.9258.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.03% at 100.53.
