What about First Republic's stock? When a bank is seized by the government, its common shareholders are wiped out. In this case, First Republic shareholders, along with its debt holders, will not receive anything. JPMorgan Chase said that it would not assume First Republic's corporate debt or preferred stock.https://www.nytimes.com/2023/05/01/business/first-republic-stock-deposits-sale.html#:~:text=What about First Republic's stock, corporate debt or preferred stock.
So i guess now you have your answer?
The question is now - have we lost everything?
yes
Rich gets richer again we loose out
Frc stock finished?

Now wat will happen to share of first repubblic bank
Jumped suddenly from 1.9 to 2.29… someone bought.
I said move on buddy. Write off your loss.
What happens to FRC stock holders now? I mean how settlement is made?
Would not surprise me if it went up. These bankrupcies are often weird.
As much as I hope, i think we should move on.
see what happens by 2.30pm first. The big question is - will FRC cease trading as a stock? Many carry on. A blip upwards could happen. But all in all, I agree with you,
So with JP buying its assets, the shares will be worthless?
Maybe similar to the situation with credit suisse. It may worth something but heavily 'discounted'
hence why JP going up, agreed. Lost a lot of money on both banks lol
