                  • Can anyone explain why Airline shares have rallied so heavily this week? In my mind, nothing has changed. Willie Walsh said last week no return to 2019 airtravel levels until 2013-2014 earliest, Lufthanser confimed today they expect to keep 300 planes grounded this year and 200 next year. And now we have 14 day potential quaranteen. I get it may be oversold but rally seems extreme. Is it because Spain and others have hinted that there MAY be an opportunity for limited summer holidays this year?

                  • I feel the 14 day self isolation will be lifted with antibody test / thermal scanners / new cases are low and dare I say vaccine.

                    • Half year report 30 June. Brexit negotiations end 1 July (what if "no deal"?). IATA document revealed last week setting out guidelines for air travel to resume, looks positive. Im holding at 482 for the time being, but won't be holding come 30 June.

                      • bit of a rhetorical questiom this, lets assume all uk visitors do half to isolation for 14days on arrival, if thr government do then decide to allow the airlines to operate again, considering the potential lack of fares due to this 14 day isolation period, would it actually be viable for them to remove staff from furlough and operate? ive read the uk isnt the only country to inforce this 14 isolation either, so its 2 way traffic affected.

                      • what country is going allow UK passengers anytime soon. that said how many Easyjet flights are non UK

                    • Glad SP is moving back up  519 today, up 7%. Although I sold my EZJ through pessimism about the industry, Easyjet are a good firm to fly with if you need to fly. I still think & hope there will be less air traffic in the  future.

                      • Never hope in market
                        0
                    • I disagree, be cautious yes, but if companies can stay afloat once flights resume they will recover. slowly at first and then faster over the next 12 months. some operators resuming June and July. Easyjet will never be as cheap again ! they have money to August and cancel Airbus deal would further save! Remember they arent paying a lot in wages

                      • People might lose there appetite for holidays abroad. With this country getting warmer & cash getting shorter. Never been all inclusive to Benidorm or a far away sweltering destination & doesn't appeal. Easyjet did provide a slick economical service but demand for flying will surely drop.

                      • One sunny day and suddenly UK is a summer holiday destination ..... give over!! 99.9% of people in this country go abroad for holidays, they always have and always will. You enjoy Blackpool while i go chill in the Maldives
