Baillie Gifford Shin Nippon PLC is a United Kingdom-based investment company. The objective of the Company’ is to pursue long term capital growth through investment in small Japanese companies. The portfolio is constructed through the identification of individual companies, which offer long term growth potential, typically over a three-to-five-year horizon. The Company also invest in the United Kingdom and Overseas domiciled pooled funds, including United Kingdom listed investment trusts, that invest principally in Japanese securities. The portfolio consists of predominantly listed equity holdings, however unlisted investments may also be held. The Company invests in various sectors, including communication services, consumer discretionary, consumer staples, financials, healthcare, industrials, information technology, materials and real estate. The Company’s alternative investment fund manager is Baillie Gifford & Co Limited.
