Investing.com – Russia equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Telecoms and Mining sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX declined 0.23%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MICEX were GidroOGK-011D (MCX:HYDR), which rose 8.14% or 0.0670 points to trade at 0.8900 at the close. MMK (MCX:MAGN) added 3.29% or 1.140 points to end at 35.750 and Severstal - ao (MCX:CHMF) was up 1.61% or 15.60 points to 983.60 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Akron (MCX:AKRN), which lost 1.91% or 65.0 points to trade at 3345.0 in late trade. Inter rao ees (MCX:IRAO) declined 1.81% or 0.0700 points to end at 3.7995 and Rosneft (MCX:ROSN) shed 1.46% or 5.05 points to 341.50.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 118 to 99 and 23 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was down 0.44% to 24.900.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.77% or 9.20 to $1180.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 3.23% or 1.55 to hit $46.41 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 3.02% or 1.48 to trade at $47.52 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.56% to 64.8438, while EUR/RUB rose 0.94% to 68.716.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.28% at 101.49.
