Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms Services, Materials and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC lost 0.32%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were PINFRA SAB De CV (MX:PINFRA), which rose 1.54% or 3.30 points to trade at 218.00 at the close. Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacifico SAB De CV Class B (MX:GAPB) added 0.97% or 1.97 points to end at 204.84 and Grupo Financiero Banorte (MX:GFNORTEO) was up 0.92% or 1.040 points to 114.360 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo Televisa SAB Unit (MX:TLVACPO), which lost 2.75% or 2.48 points to trade at 87.55 in late trade. Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA) declined 1.97% or 0.550 points to end at 27.350 and Bolsa Mexicana De Valores SAB De CV (MX:BOLSAA) shed 1.60% or 0.520 points to 32.050.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 117 to 107 and 11 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.22% or 2.78 to $1246.32 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.31% or 0.14 to hit $44.88 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.04% or 0.02 to trade at $47.56 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 1.03% to 18.0316, while EUR/MXN rose 1.55% to 20.6270.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.51% at 95.29.
