Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were mixed at the close on Monday, as gains in the Telecoms, Services and Real Estate & Construction sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Transport, Consumer Staples and Banking sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General added 0.47%, while the ADX General index declined 0.50%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were National Cement Company P.S.C. (DU:NCC), which rose 9.37% or 0.300 points to trade at 3.500 at the close. Marka Pjse (DU:MARKA) added 4.17% or 0.05 points to end at 1.25 and Arabtec Holding PJSC (DU:ARTC) was up 3.78% or 0.070 points to 1.920 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ARAMEX PJSC (DU:ARMX), which lost 2.54% or 0.080 points to trade at 3.150 in late trade. Emirates NBD PJSC (DU:ENBD) declined 1.00% or 0.090 points to end at 8.900 and Dubai Parks and Resorts PJSC (DU:DUBA) shed 0.89% or 0.010 points to 1.110.
The top performers on the ADX General were Natl Co Bldg M (AD:BILD) which rose 12.77% to 0.530, Rak Ceramics (AD:RKCE) which was up 4.69% to settle at 3.35 and Ad Shipbldg Co (AD:ADSB) which gained 2.61% to close at 3.14.
The worst performers were Methaq (AD:METH) which was down 3.64% to 1.060 in late trade, Ad Commercial (AD:ADCB) which lost 1.98% to settle at 7.43 and Dana Gas (AD:DANA) which was down 1.92% to 0.520 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 19 to 7 and 2 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 10 fell and 10 advanced, while 2 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 1.19% or 0.55 to $45.50 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 1.21% or 0.60 to hit $49.01 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.12% or 1.40 to trade at $1120.00 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was unchanged 0.00% to 3.6729, while EUR/AED fell 0.03% to 4.0933.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.04% at 96.30.
