Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were mixed at the close on Sunday, as gains in the Services, Finance & Investment and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Consumer Staples, Insurance and Transport sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General added 0.43%, while the ADX General index lost 0.06%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were National Central Cooling Co. (DU:TABR), which rose 2.04% or 0.040 points to trade at 2.000 at the close. Dubai Financial Market PJSC (DU:DFM) added 1.82% or 0.020 points to end at 1.120 and Emirates NBD PJSC (DU:ENBD) was up 1.23% or 0.100 points to 8.250 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Takaful Emarat PSC (DU:TKFE), which lost 3.50% or 0.070 points to trade at 1.930 in late trade. Islamic Arab Insurance Company (DU:SALAMA) declined 3.00% or 0.015 points to end at 0.485 and DXB Entertainments (P.J.S.C.) (DU:DXBE) shed 2.59% or 0.017 points to 0.640.
The top performers on the ADX General were Ad Aviation (AD:ADAV) which rose 3.58% to 2.890, Union Natl Bk (AD:UNB) which was up 2.24% to settle at 4.100 and Sharjah Islami (AD:SIB) which gained 0.73% to close at 1.380.
The worst performers were Al Khazna Ins (AD:AKIC) which was down 6.67% to 0.280 in late trade, Arkan Building Materials Co PJSC (AD:ARKN) which lost 3.23% to settle at 0.6000 and Rak Properties (AD:RPRO) which was down 1.43% to 0.690 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 19 to 13 and 7 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 8 fell and 7 advanced, while 9 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was down 0.51% or 0.29 to $56.88 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 0.41% or 0.26 to hit $63.67 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.96% or 12.37 to trade at $1275.13 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was up 0.01% to 3.6732, while EUR/AED rose 0.22% to 4.2846.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.13% at 94.30.
