Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were mixed at the close on Monday, as gains in the Real Estate & Construction, Consumer Staples and Finance & Investment sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Transport, Insurance and Banking sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Dubai, the DFM General added 0.37% to hit a new 1-month high, while the ADX General index declined 0.21%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were Deyaar Development PJSC (DU:DEYR), which rose 1.64% or 0.007 points to trade at 0.433 at the close. Emaar Properties PJSC (DU:EMAR) added 1.55% or 0.080 points to end at 5.250 and Dubai Investments PJSC (DU:DINV) was up 1.54% or 0.030 points to 1.980 in late trade.

Biggest losers included National Cement Company P.S.C. (DU:NCC), which lost 7.14% or 0.200 points to trade at 2.600 in late trade. SHUAA Capital PSC (DU:SHUA) declined 2.83% or 0.030 points to end at 1.030 and Air Arabia PJSC (DU:AIRA) shed 2.78% or 0.030 points to 1.050.

The top performers on the ADX General were Rak Cement Co (AD:RKCC) which rose 8.45% to 0.770, Gulf Cement Co (AD:GCEM) which was up 6.19% to settle at 1.0300 and Abu Dhabi National for Building Materials Co PJSC (AD:BILD) which gained 3.92% to close at 0.530.

The worst performers were Union Natl Bk (AD:UNB) which was down 5.35% to 3.360 in late trade, Methaq (AD:METH) which lost 2.50% to settle at 0.780 and International Holding Company PJSC (AD:IHC) which was down 1.53% to 1.29 at the close.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 15 to 15 and 6 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 11 rose and 8 declined, while 7 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was up 1.25% or 0.85 to $69.11 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 1.61% or 1.18 to hit $74.25 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.06% or 0.80 to trade at $1230.30 a troy ounce.

USD/AED was up 0.01% to 3.6732, while EUR/AED fell 0.07% to 4.3022.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.04% at 94.21.
