Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were mixed at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Finance & Investment, Insurance and Consumer Staples sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Services, Real Estate & Construction and Transport sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Dubai, the DFM General added 0.32%, while the ADX General index declined 0.07%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were Dubai Investments PJSC (DU:DINV), which rose 4.18% or 0.100 points to trade at 2.490 at the close. Amlak Finance PJSC (DU:AMLK) added 4.10% or 0.041 points to end at 1.040 and Islamic Arab Insurance Company (DU:SALAMA) was up 3.92% or 0.020 points to 0.530 in late trade.

Biggest losers included National Central Cooling Co. (DU:TABR), which lost 2.49% or 0.050 points to trade at 1.960 in late trade. Amanat Holdings PJSC (DU:AMANT) declined 2.40% or 0.030 points to end at 1.220 and Emaar Malls (DU:EMAA) shed 1.79% or 0.040 points to 2.190.

The top performers on the ADX General were Arkan Building Materials Co PJSC (AD:ARKN) which rose 6.67% to 0.6400, National Corp Tourism Hotels (AD:NCTH) which was up 5.14% to settle at 2.25 and Methaq (AD:METH) which gained 3.90% to close at 0.800.

The worst performers were Ad Natl Ins Co (AD:ADNI) which was down 10.00% to 3.600 in late trade, Ad Shipbldg Co (AD:ADSB) which lost 9.78% to settle at 2.030 and Gulf Pharm Ind (AD:GPHI) which was down 8.54% to 2.250 at the close.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 27 to 8 and 3 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 13 rose and 11 declined, while 6 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was down 0.26% or 0.15 to $56.61 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 0.22% or 0.14 to hit $63.02 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.37% or 4.69 to trade at $1274.21 a troy ounce.

USD/AED was down 0.00% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED rose 0.45% to 4.3046.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.20% at 94.21.
