Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were mixed at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Finance & Investment, Telecoms and Services sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Insurance, Transport and Consumer Staples sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General added 0.12%, while the ADX General index declined 0.12%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were SHUAA Capital PSC (DU:SHUA), which rose 2.48% or 0.030 points to trade at 1.240 at the close. Dubai Financial Market PJSC (DU:DFM) added 1.69% or 0.020 points to end at 1.200 and Union Properties PJSC (DU:UPRO) was up 1.15% or 0.010 points to 0.880 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Takaful Emarat PSC (DU:TKFE), which lost 9.05% or 0.210 points to trade at 2.110 in late trade. Marka Pjse (DU:MARKA) declined 2.18% or 0.02 points to end at 0.72 and Emaar Malls (DU:EMAA) shed 1.22% or 0.030 points to 2.420.
The top performers on the ADX General were Ad Shipbldg Co (AD:ADSB) which rose 10.33% to 2.350, Al Khazna Ins (AD:AKIC) which was up 3.03% to settle at 0.340 and Rak Cement Co (AD:RKCC) which gained 2.67% to close at 0.770.
The worst performers were National Marine Dredging PSC (AD:NMDC) which was down 9.90% to 3.730 in late trade, Gulf Cement Co (AD:GCEM) which lost 9.17% to settle at 0.9900 and National Corp Tourism Hotels (AD:NCTH) which was down 5.38% to 2.46 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 14 to 13 and 11 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 12 fell and 10 advanced, while 8 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.73% or 0.36 to $49.92 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 1.06% or 0.56 to hit $53.26 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.59% or 7.58 to trade at $1286.88 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was up 0.00% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED fell 0.30% to 4.3062.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.20% at 93.60.
