Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were mixed at the close on Monday, as gains in the Consumer Staples, Transport and Finance & Investment sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Telecoms, Real Estate & Construction and Insurance sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General lost 0.07%, while the ADX General index climbed 0.29%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were Gulf Navigation Holding PJSC (DU:GNAV), which rose 1.54% or 0.020 points to trade at 1.320 at the close. Marka Pjse (DU:MARKA) added 1.32% or 0.01 points to end at 0.69 and Drake & Scull International PJSC (DU:DSI) was up 1.31% or 0.005 points to 0.388 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Dubai Islamic Insurance Co. (DU:AMAN), which lost 1.58% or 0.015 points to trade at 0.932 in late trade. Damac Properties Dubai Co PSC (DU:DAMAC) declined 1.49% or 0.060 points to end at 3.980 and Gulf General Investments Company (DU:GGIC) shed 1.36% or 0.005 points to 0.364.
The top performers on the ADX General were Dana Gas (AD:DANA) which rose 14.06% to 0.730, Eshraq Properties Co PJSC (AD:ESHR) which was up 6.90% to settle at 0.9300 and Rak Properties (AD:RPRO) which gained 4.48% to close at 0.700.
The worst performers were National Takaful Co PJSC (AD:WATA) which was down 10.00% to 0.63 in late trade, Green Crs Ins (AD:GCIC) which lost 9.68% to settle at 0.560 and Commercial Bank International (AD:CBI) which was down 5.66% to 1.000 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 16 to 14 and 7 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 9 rose and 8 declined, while 6 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.61% or 0.29 to $47.58 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.19% or 0.10 to hit $52.65 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.75% or 10.03 to trade at $1340.43 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was unchanged 0.00% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED rose 0.33% to 4.3712.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.32% at 92.52.
