Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were mixed at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Real Estate & Construction, Insurance and Services sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Telecoms, Finance & Investment and Transport sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General declined 0.01%, while the ADX General index added 0.14%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were AJMAN BANK PJSC (DU:AJBNK), which rose 3.48% or 0.040 points to trade at 1.190 at the close. Islamic Arab Insurance Company (DU:SALAMA) added 1.71% or 0.008 points to end at 0.476 and Union Properties PJSC (DU:UPRO) was up 1.69% or 0.015 points to 0.904 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ARAMEX PJSC (DU:ARMX), which lost 2.11% or 0.110 points to trade at 5.110 in late trade. Takaful Emarat PSC (DU:TKFE) declined 1.88% or 0.040 points to end at 2.090 and Dubai Investments PJSC (DU:DINV) shed 1.26% or 0.030 points to 2.350.
The top performers on the ADX General were Dana Gas (AD:DANA) which rose 3.17% to 0.650, Arkan Building Materials Co PJSC (AD:ARKN) which was up 1.59% to settle at 0.6400 and Sharjah Islami (AD:SIB) which gained 1.48% to close at 1.370.
The worst performers were Insurance Hous (AD:IH) which was down 9.64% to 0.750 in late trade, Abd Nat Takafu (AD:TKFL) which lost 6.00% to settle at 4.70 and Gulf Cement Co (AD:GCEM) which was down 4.67% to 1.0200 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 19 to 14 and 7 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 9 fell and 7 advanced, while 8 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.50% or 0.24 to $48.17 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.42% or 0.22 to hit $52.35 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.22% or 2.89 to trade at $1291.81 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was unchanged 0.00% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED fell 0.11% to 4.3313.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.09% at 93.22.
