Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Finance & Investment, Insurance and Transport sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General lost 0.18%, while the ADX General index fell 0.21%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were Amlak Finance PJSC (DU:AMLK), which rose 1.92% or 0.020 points to trade at 1.060 at the close. Damac Properties Dubai Co PSC (DU:DAMAC) added 1.56% or 0.060 points to end at 3.900 and National Central Cooling Co. (DU:TABR) was up 0.48% or 0.010 points to 2.080 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Marka Pjse (DU:MARKA), which lost 5.14% or 0.04 points to trade at 0.67 in late trade. Union Properties PJSC (DU:UPRO) declined 4.32% or 0.037 points to end at 0.820 and Dubai Islamic Insurance Co. (DU:AMAN) shed 4.17% or 0.040 points to 0.920.
The top performers on the ADX General were Commercial Bank International (AD:CBI) which rose 14.55% to 1.260, National Marine Dredging PSC (AD:NMDC) which was up 2.44% to settle at 4.200 and Natl Bk Of Rak (AD:RAKB) which gained 1.97% to close at 4.65.
The worst performers were Arkan Building Materials Co PJSC (AD:ARKN) which was down 6.06% to 0.6200 in late trade, Sharjah Cement AD (AD:SCID) which lost 5.71% to settle at 0.990 and Waha Capital (AD:WAHA) which was down 3.37% to 1.720 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 23 to 8 and 7 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 14 fell and 6 advanced, while 5 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.46% or 0.22 to $47.37 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.69% or 0.35 to hit $50.38 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.78% or 10.04 to trade at $1280.36 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was unchanged 0.00% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED fell 0.26% to 4.3153.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.31% at 93.63.
