The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were NatWest Group PLC (LON:NWG), which rose 3.88% or 12.80 points to trade at 342.50 at the close. Schroders PLC (LON:SDR) added 3.86% or 13.40 points to end at 360.60 and Standard Chartered PLC (LON:STAN) was up 3.84% or 30.60 points to 828.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Spirax-Sarco Engineering PLC (LON:SPX), which lost 3.39% or 250.00 points to trade at 7,120.00 in late trade. SSE PLC (LON:SSE) declined 2.78% or 52.50 points to end at 1,838.00 and JD Sports Fashion PLC (LON:JD) shed 2.67% or 3.80 points to 138.65.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 1115 to 693 and 661 ended unchanged on the London Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.29% or 7.90 to $2,671.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 1.55% or 1.14 to hit $74.85 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 1.35% or 1.05 to trade at $78.67 a barrel.
GBP/USD was unchanged 0.13% to 1.31, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.51% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.62% at 102.38.
