Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Basic Metals, Metal Products & Machinery and Banking sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 3.42% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Soda Sanayi AS (IS:SODA), which rose 7.05% or 0.450 points to trade at 6.830 at the close. Cemtas Celik Makina Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:CEMTS) added 5.52% or 0.400 points to end at 7.650 and Trabzonspor Sportif Yatirim ve Futbol Isletmeciligi Ticaret AS (IS:TSPOR) was up 3.28% or 0.040 points to 1.260 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ford Otomotiv Sanayi AS (IS:FROTO), which lost 10.92% or 7.05 points to trade at 57.50 in late trade. Turkiye Sinai Kalkinma Bankasi AS (IS:TSKB) declined 7.79% or 0.060 points to end at 0.710 and Global Yatirim Holding AS (IS:GLYHO) shed 7.04% or 0.190 points to 2.510.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 293 to 82 and 32 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.88% or 10.80 to $1239.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.46% or 0.31 to hit $67.64 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.70% or 0.54 to trade at $77.43 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.71% to 5.5985, while EUR/TRY fell 0.52% to 6.3803.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.29% at 96.18.
