Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Technology, Basic Metals and Transport sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 3.10% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Galatasaray Sportif Sinai ve Ticari Yatirimlar AS (IS:GSRAY), which rose 7.11% or 0.15 points to trade at 2.26 at the close. Anadolu Efes Biracilik ve Malt Sanayi AS (IS:AEFES) added 2.46% or 0.64 points to end at 26.64 and Brisa Bridgestone Sabanci Lastik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:BRISA) was up 2.08% or 0.14 points to 6.88 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Aksa Akrilik Kimya Sanayi AS (IS:AKSA), which lost 14.03% or 2.17 points to trade at 13.30 in late trade. Besiktas Futbol Yatirimlari Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:BJKAS) declined 13.31% or 0.450 points to end at 2.930 and TAV Havalimanlari Holding (IS:TAVHL) shed 7.79% or 1.84 points to 21.78.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 313 to 74 and 22 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.59% or 7.80 to $1315.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.34% or 0.23 to hit $68.33 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.96% or 0.71 to trade at $74.50 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.65% to 4.0685, while EUR/TRY rose 0.13% to 4.9130.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.38% at 91.66.
