Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Telecoms, Technology and Banking sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 3.01% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Yayla Agro Gida Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:YYLGD), which rose 5.74% or 0.70 points to trade at 12.90 at the close. Tukas Gida Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:TUKAS) added 2.25% or 0.20 points to end at 9.08 and Kaleseramik Canakkale Kalebodur Seramik Sanayi AS (IS:KLSER) was up 1.46% or 0.70 points to 48.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Turkiye Sinai Kalkinma Bankasi AS (IS:TSKB), which lost 6.63% or 0.87 points to trade at 12.25 in late trade. Kontrolmatik Teknoloji Enerji ve Mu (IS:KONTR) declined 5.78% or 3.65 points to end at 59.50 and Tofas Turk Otomobil Fabrikasi AS (IS:TOASO) shed 5.17% or 14.25 points to 261.50.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 451 to 109 and 11 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.52% or 12.90 to $2,467.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 3.85% or 2.94 to hit $73.37 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 3.45% or 2.74 to trade at $76.78 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.42% to 33.22, while EUR/TRY rose 1.29% to 36.29.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 1.23% at 102.93.
