Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Banking, Tourism and Information Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 2.77%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Turkiye Petrol Rafinerileri AS (IS:TUPRS), which rose 4.46% or 5.90 points to trade at 138.10 at the close. Tekfen Holding AS (IS:TKFEN) added 3.41% or 0.74 points to end at 22.42 and Soda Sanayi AS (IS:SODA) was up 1.27% or 0.090 points to 7.200 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Alarko Holding AS (IS:ALARK), which lost 8.13% or 0.200 points to trade at 2.260 in late trade. Akbank TAS (IS:AKBNK) declined 7.99% or 0.51 points to end at 5.87 and Migros Ticaret AS (IS:MGROS) shed 7.95% or 1.20 points to 13.90.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 343 to 45 and 19 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.21% or 2.50 to $1205.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 2.09% or 1.60 to hit $74.81 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.43% or 1.23 to trade at $85.06 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 2.24% to 6.1819, while EUR/TRY rose 2.72% to 7.1330.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.27% at 95.41.
