Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Information Technology, Basic Metals and Textile & Leather sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 1.78% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were SASA Polyester Sanayi AS (IS:SASA), which rose 9.12% or 1.290 points to trade at 15.440 at the close. Tumosan Motor ve Traktor Sanayi AS (IS:TMSN) added 6.02% or 0.500 points to end at 8.800 and Vestel Elektronik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:VESTL) was up 5.26% or 0.600 points to 12.000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ford Otomotiv Sanayi AS (IS:FROTO), which lost 6.55% or 4.30 points to trade at 61.35 in late trade. Galatasaray Sportif Sinai ve Ticari Yatirimlar AS (IS:GSRAY) declined 5.24% or 0.12 points to end at 2.17 and Yatas Yatak ve Yorgan Sanayi Ticaret AS (IS:YATAS) shed 4.61% or 1.660 points to 34.340.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 295 to 75 and 37 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was down 1.19% or 16.00 to $1326.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 2.25% or 1.47 to hit $63.78 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 2.06% or 1.43 to trade at $68.03 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.35% to 3.9955, while EUR/TRY rose 0.00% to 4.9400.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.55% at 89.45.
