Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Technology and Wood, Paper & Printing sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 0.78%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Teknosa Ic ve Dis Ticaret AS (IS:TKNSA), which rose 9.97% or 3.00 points to trade at 33.08 at the close. Tukas Gida Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:TUKAS) added 3.77% or 0.30 points to end at 8.25 and Kayseri Seker Fabrikasi AS (IS:KAYSE) was up 3.22% or 0.82 points to 26.30 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Turk Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:TTKOM), which lost 7.46% or 4.05 points to trade at 50.25 in late trade. Kontrolmatik Teknoloji Enerji ve Mu (IS:KONTR) declined 3.68% or 1.87 points to end at 48.88 and Koza Anadolu Metal Madencilik Isletmeleri AS (IS:KOZAA) shed 3.45% or 2.55 points to 71.45.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 392 to 166 and 15 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.19% or 4.90 to $2,545.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.04% or 0.03 to hit $73.20 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.21% or 0.16 to trade at $77.36 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.17% to 33.91, while EUR/TRY rose 0.17% to 37.77.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.16% at 101.13.
