Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Food & Beverages, Information Technology and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 0.52% to hit a new 6-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Gubre Fabrikalari TAS (IS:GUBRF), which rose 4.11% or 8.40 points to trade at 212.70 at the close. Tofas Turk Otomobil Fabrikasi AS (IS:TOASO) added 3.73% or 6.70 points to end at 186.50 and Aselsan Elektronik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:ASELS) was up 2.60% or 1.65 points to 65.15 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Reeder Teknoloji Sanayi Ve Ticaret AS (IS:REEDR), which lost 9.96% or 2.18 points to trade at 19.70 in late trade. Coca-Cola Icecek AS (IS:CCOLA) declined 7.05% or 3.42 points to end at 45.12 and Agrotech Yuksek Teknoloji ve Yatirim AS (IS:AGROT) shed 6.03% or 0.82 points to 12.77.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 295 to 257 and 27 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.04% or 1.10 to $2,745.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 1.32% or 0.94 to hit $72.41 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 1.19% or 0.89 to trade at $75.97 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.02% to 34.34, while EUR/TRY rose 0.29% to 37.51.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.29% at 103.49.
