Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Sports, Electricity and Information Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 0.50%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Sdt Uzay ve Savunma Teknolojileri AS (IS:SDTTR), which rose 7.65% or 22.25 points to trade at 313.25 at the close. Kontrolmatik Teknoloji Enerji ve Mu (IS:KONTR) added 4.80% or 2.95 points to end at 64.45 and Turkiye Garanti Bankasi (IS:GARAN) was up 4.38% or 5.20 points to 123.80 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Katilimevim Tasarruf Finansman AS (IS:KTLEV), which lost 6.28% or 2.90 points to trade at 43.30 in late trade. Arcelik AS (IS:ARCLK) declined 5.62% or 10.00 points to end at 168.00 and Agrotech Yuksek Teknoloji ve Yatirim AS (IS:AGROT) shed 5.55% or 1.18 points to 20.08.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 427 to 132 and 12 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.66% or 16.20 to $2,468.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 3.48% or 2.60 to hit $77.33 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 3.05% or 2.38 to trade at $80.45 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.10% to 33.11, while EUR/TRY rose 0.17% to 35.89.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.43% at 103.87.
