Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Sports, Non-Metal Mineral Products and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 0.40%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Vestel Beyaz Esya Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:VESBE), which rose 5.27% or 0.92 points to trade at 18.37 at the close. Aksa Akrilik Kimya Sanayi AS (IS:AKSA) added 4.01% or 0.42 points to end at 10.90 and Sekerbank TAS (IS:SKBNK) was up 3.57% or 0.17 points to 4.93 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Agrotech Yuksek Teknoloji ve Yatirim AS (IS:AGROT), which lost 9.97% or 1.43 points to trade at 12.92 in late trade. Peker Gayrimenkul Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:PEKGY) declined 7.89% or 0.12 points to end at 1.40 and Kaleseramik Canakkale Kalebodur Seramik Sanayi AS (IS:KLSER) shed 5.22% or 2.10 points to 38.10.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 408 to 157 and 14 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 1.33% or 36.14 to $2,754.54 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 1.28% or 0.88 to hit $69.47 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.97% or 0.70 to trade at $72.89 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.10% to 34.86, while EUR/TRY fell 0.31% to 36.60.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.30% at 106.40.
