Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Banking, Insurance and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 0.31%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Sekerbank TAS (IS:SKBNK), which rose 9.79% or 0.41 points to trade at 4.60 at the close. Biotrend Cevre ve Enerji Yatirimlari AS (IS:BIOEN) added 7.84% or 1.62 points to end at 22.28 and Anadolu Efes Biracilik ve Malt Sanayi AS (IS:AEFES) was up 6.51% or 15.10 points to 247.10 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Akbank TAS (IS:AKBNK), which lost 4.19% or 2.80 points to trade at 64.05 in late trade. Agrotech Yuksek Teknoloji ve Yatirim AS (IS:AGROT) declined 4.06% or 0.61 points to end at 14.41 and Turkiye Sinai Kalkinma Bankasi AS (IS:TSKB) shed 3.93% or 0.48 points to 11.72.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 301 to 252 and 20 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.10% or 2.35 to $2,338.95 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.60% or 0.49 to hit $81.25 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.56% or 0.48 to trade at $84.78 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.06% to 32.78, while EUR/TRY fell 0.21% to 35.20.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.06% at 105.51.
