Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Telecoms, Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic and Basic Metals sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 0.30% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Galatasaray Sportif Sinai ve Ticari Yatirimlar AS (IS:GSRAY), which rose 6.14% or 0.14 points to trade at 2.42 at the close. Alarko Holding AS (IS:ALARK) added 4.87% or 0.280 points to end at 6.030 and Fenerbahce Futbol AS (IS:FENER) was up 3.49% or 1.18 points to 35.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Petkim Petrokimya Holding AS (IS:PETKM), which lost 10.42% or 0.700 points to trade at 6.020 in late trade. ICBC Turkey Bank AS (IS:ICBCT) declined 7.06% or 0.440 points to end at 5.790 and Dogan Sirketler Grubu Holding AS (IS:DOHOL) shed 5.10% or 0.050 points to 0.930.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 249 to 109 and 46 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.09% or 1.20 to $1311.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 2.00% or 1.37 to hit $69.80 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 1.71% or 1.26 to trade at $74.88 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.59% to 4.2393, while EUR/TRY rose 0.17% to 5.0643.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.26% at 92.52.
