Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Sports, Information Technology and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 0.28%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Otokar Otomotiv ve Savunma Sanayi AS (IS:OTKAR), which rose 5.73% or 6.70 points to trade at 123.60 at the close. Eregli Demir ve Celik Fabrikalari TAS (IS:EREGL) added 2.69% or 0.260 points to end at 9.910 and Ipek Dogal Enerji Kaynaklari Arastirma ve Uretim AS (IS:IPEKE) was up 2.23% or 0.110 points to 5.040 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Erbosan Erciyas Boru Sanayi Ve Ticaret AS (IS:ERBOS), which lost 11.53% or 11.55 points to trade at 88.65 in late trade. Banvit Bandirma Vitaminli Yem Sanayi AS (IS:BANVT) declined 8.36% or 1.840 points to end at 20.160 and Global Yatirim Holding AS (IS:GLYHO) shed 5.14% or 0.220 points to 4.060.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 263 to 104 and 40 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.30% or 4.00 to $1330.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 1.30% or 0.77 to hit $58.52 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 1.02% or 0.64 to trade at $61.95 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.23% to 3.8091, while EUR/TRY rose 0.75% to 4.7077.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.49% at 89.57.
