Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Banking, Sports and Food & Beverages sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 0.19%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Teknosa Ic ve Dis Ticaret AS (IS:TKNSA), which rose 4.68% or 0.230 points to trade at 5.140 at the close. Soda Sanayi AS (IS:SODA) added 4.61% or 0.280 points to end at 6.350 and Brisa Bridgestone Sabanci Lastik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:BRISA) was up 4.17% or 0.26 points to 6.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ihlas Holding AS (IS:IHLAS), which lost 4.76% or 0.020 points to trade at 0.400 in late trade. Ipek Dogal Enerji Kaynaklari Arastirma ve Uretim AS (IS:IPEKE) declined 3.70% or 0.210 points to end at 5.460 and Besiktas Futbol Yatirimlari Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:BJKAS) shed 3.17% or 0.080 points to 2.440.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 206 to 166 and 35 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 1.33% or 16.50 to $1258.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.51% or 0.38 to hit $73.56 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.23% or 0.18 to trade at $77.12 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 1.23% to 4.6723, while EUR/TRY rose 1.23% to 5.4434.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.23% at 94.38.
